Hello, world

The first post on any personal site is awkward. You either overexplain the site you just built, or you write something ordinary and hope the page earns itself over time.

I’ll aim somewhere between.

The brief#

I wanted a site that reads well, loads fast, and doesn’t ask for attention. One column. A serif that does most of the work. Light and dark themes because I read in both. No JavaScript that isn’t doing something useful.

The reference point was darioamodei.com — not to copy it, but because it’s the clearest example I know of a site that trusts its words to carry the page.

What’s here#

For now: a home, a writing index, a list of projects, and a page about me. I’d rather add things slowly, as I actually have them, than fill the page for its own sake.

NOTE

If you’re reading this close to the publish date, you may be one of a small handful of people on the page. Hello.

I’ll try to make the next post more interesting than this one.
